French hoods were worn in the second half of the 15th century, the late Tudor and early Elizabethan period. The large french hoods come with chiffon veils or no veils to be worn with snoods or cauls. These have wire in them to achieve the desired shape. This one is green velvet with black, crystal and pearl stick pins and an emerald green antique gold jewel.
